Outcome 04 · Speed to quote

Quote faster than anyone in your market.

Same day instead of next week. The first credible number in front of a buyer usually wins, and it is rarely the lowest one.

The quote is the product until they hire you

Before anybody has seen your work, the quote is the only thing they have to judge you on. Its speed, its clarity, whether it answered the question they actually asked. Buyers cannot evaluate your craft yet, so they evaluate the document.

In most markets the first credible number in front of the buyer wins. Credible is doing as much work in that sentence as first.

Why yours is slow, and it is not laziness

Quoting gets done at night. It requires you specifically, because it needs judgement about scope and price that nobody else in the building can make. So it queues behind a full day of actual work, and the queue is why a two hour task takes four days to come out.

Then it is inconsistent, because the version you build at 10pm on a Thursday is not the version you build fresh on a Monday. Same work, different number, and neither one is wrong exactly.

What we build

Your pricing, encoded

Rates, materials, markups, minimums and the exceptions you keep in your head. Written down once, applied the same way every time.

Assembly, not authorship

The line items, the math, the scope language and the terms get built in seconds from the details of the request. You review and adjust rather than start blank.

Options built in

Good, better and best without three times the work, which reliably lifts average value and gives the buyer something to decide between other than yes or no.

Out the door immediately

It sends while the conversation is still warm, and it drops straight into the follow up sequence so nothing goes quiet.

Consistency is the underrated half

Speed gets the attention, but pricing the same work the same way twice is what protects your margin. When every quote is assembled by hand under time pressure, some of them are under-priced and you never find out which. Encode the rules and that whole category of loss disappears.

What changes

  • Quotes go out the same day, usually within the hour
  • The same work gets priced the same way every time
  • You stop spending evenings assembling documents
  • Every quote lands in follow up automatically instead of going quiet

Owners tell us this is the one that gives them their evenings back, and the close rate lift is almost a side effect. The follow up is what finishes the job.

Does this price the work for me?

It prices from your rules. Your rates, your materials, your margins, your exceptions. It does the assembly and the math, which is the slow part. You still approve every number before it goes out, and you can override anything.

What about unusual work?

Unusual work still gets your judgement. The point is that the 80% of quotes that follow a familiar shape stop eating your evenings, which leaves you time to actually think about the ones that are genuinely different.

Will fast quotes make me look cheap?

The opposite, in practice. Fast reads as organised and in demand. Slow reads as either disinterested or disorganised, and buyers tell themselves a story about what your work will be like based on how the quote arrived.

Can it handle multiple options?

Yes, and it should. A good, better, best structure raises average value on its own, and it is a pain to build by hand, which is exactly why most people skip it.

Where to go next

Twenty minutes. We tell you where the money is leaking.

No deck, no pitch. Walk us through a normal week and we will tell you honestly which of these is costing you the most right now, and whether it is worth fixing.
